On names:
My name is Signe-Sanne and my horses name is Blizz. That is short for Blizzard, the name he already had when I bought
him. Although I had several other beautiful and meaningful names planned, I decided to stick with Blizz(ard). I love LiveActionRolePlaying
( LARP) and went on adventurous weekends regulary before I owned my pony. When Larping I did have an imaginary horse, a brown
mare, named Bliss. I think it was fate that lead me to find Blizz and his appropriate name.
I am also knows as 'dapper dier' or on a few other sites as Brave Animal. Dapper dier is the dutch translation of the
latter. That name came to be when I finished my education as a theaterdesigner and got my Bachleor degree. It is quit a long
story that I would like to shorten by mentioning 'the Te of Piglet'. In that book the wirter ( also an artist) explain
the letters BA behind his name as the title Brave Animal. My father started calling me Brave Animal and when I started
work as an artist I decided on naming my business 'dapper dier'. Even though I am not a business anymore, the name got stuck
and I still think it applies deftly to what I am doing now.
On horses:
I have always loved horses, I dreamed of them when I was awake and asleep. I caught 'the virus' at a young age and it
just never went away. There was a time when I did not have so much time to spend on horses and it just became to expensive
or too far away or just not a priority in live. But it never went away and came back even worse when I decided to actually
buy my own horse and make a livelong dream come true. I was so lucky to succeed straightaway and found the horse of my dreams.
It had ot be a Gyspy cob ( or tinker ( europian) or Irish cob ( english) or vanner horse ( american)) and though
when I saw Blizz he was too short, too stocky, too old and too feisty, it turned out to be teh pony for me! My mom pointed
that out to me and she is not a horselover!
Blizz and I have once been in a LARP together, we played the role of a Nazgul or Ringwraith and got to chase the players
out of the village. I have tried to set up a LARP involving horses, but as of yet have not been able to get a team together.
In the meantime we have been doing horseshows for fantasylovers, horselovers and fair visitors. I have been amazed at how
well Blizz knows the difference between a child and being careful where you put your feet and doing a show with fullout galops
and rearing up. He loves his audience!
